On my report from my mamogram it says right breast grossly unremarkable?what does this mean?
It means that the radiologist does not see anything abnormal or wrong with your breast on your mammogram films. It is a very good finding! Remember to do your self breast exam on a regular basis, as it is the way most breast cancers are found!
that is another word for normal.
When they use the term "grossly" it means from what they can see there is nothing wrong. Unremarkable means they can't see anything worth talking about. So that means you are okay. Sort of. Tests like that do not guarantee that you are 100% clear, that is why the language is ambiguous. You still have to do the breast self exam. Mammograms are not the end all in diagnoses.
normal
"Grossly" means on the whole or overall; not like slang "gross!"
"Unremarkable" means nothing was seen worth talking about.
All in all, doctor-talk for the best report you could get back.
