Period lasts less than a day?

my period came on, on sunday night, im on the pill and dont normally come on till the monday after i take my last pill of the pack but this month i have come on the night before i usually do
by the time it got to monday my period had more or less stopped, when i go to the toilet and wipe myself there is blood but nothing in the sanitary towel
any ideas? is it just a light period? can periods change from month to month?Period lasts less than a day?
Periods can change from month to month. The pill also has a tendency to make periods lighter and shorter.
If this is reallly out of the ordinary for you, you might want to take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side, but my guess is that you just got lucky enough to have a light period this month.
It can be just a light period, periods are usually lighter when you ar on the pill. Your doctor may also want to put you on a lower dose pill so that your periods are more regular.
periods can change from month to month, regardless of if you're on the pill or not. sometimes it's light, sometimes it's heavy.

You can have a little bit of bleeding if you are pregnant. Or, if you've lost weight it can reduce your periods. If you are very thin they can stop all together. Also, people who are overweight can also have shorter periods. Stress can also confuse your hormones and effect your periods. Can be lots of things!?
