Permanent?

i thought lasor hair removal was permanent, some people say it isnt! is it?Permanent?
I think it varies from woman to woman. For some it is permanent, others do have hair grow back.
It should be permanent eventually but not initially. You will probably need a course of 6-10 but your beautician can advise you.
it depends as it can be different for every women
From my understanding it can last for a few months up to 3 or so years (It varies alot) & then there usually is some returning hair growth, more times than not alot thinner than before. It makes since that after having it done again it should be closer to permanint.
It can be but I think several sessions are needed in any case

Periodssssss?

i have really heavy periods and have to keep rushing to the toilet helppPeriodssssss?
I know your pain, WELL. Check out this web site
http://www.WebMD.com
click on the box and type in Heavy Periods
I have the same problem, looks like we both need a hysterectomy. Not, looking forward to that one=(
I have issues with doctors, I just don't trust them, I'll put mine off till the bitter end
have a sex change
Going on the pill usually makes your periods lighter and shorter.
Go to see you your doctor and find out what exactly the cause may be. It could include endometriosis or fibroids, both of which are manageable. They might prescribe a round of brith control pills that should diminish the the length of period and flow. This works fairly quickly.
Other treatments exist for more severe cases but seeing your doctor is a good place to start.
talk to your ob/gyn there is a procedure you can have done that will almost get rid of your periods completely, you will have very little discharge when you have a period, I had it done a couple of years ago, I would go thru a large box of pads each month and have pain, since the procedure I'm still on the same box of 24 pads from a couple of years ago, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the procedure, hope it helps
Go see your doctor asp, maybe you need some treatment to sort things out.

Periodss..?

do breasts normally develop before or after your period
and im 15 and havnt gotten my periods yet and am pretty flatPeriodss..?
They usually develop before you start. I got my first period at 14 and breasts at 15. you will get your period when your body is ready. Don't worry. Talk to your mom about when she started her period and when she developed breasts. Good luck.
after. That's when the hormones start kicking in
umm it all depends on the person but most the time the start to grow a bit be for you get your period
Usually both happen within a fairly short time of one another. If you are otherwise healthy I would not worry too much. But no harm in asking your Doc if it makes you feel better.
dont worry. my mom got her period before she even wore a bra! so did i......

Periods? totm?

my girlfriend want to know why do periods hurt!Periods? totm?
i think that it is the womb contracting
Well , its the eggs moving i think! Just take some paracetamol, and a nice hot chocolate should do the trick! On your way
Oh there so pain full, i feel for her. The thing is not everyone has pain with it, I feel like I have had a kick in the belly and back. Apparently it something to do with the amount of blood we are losing, so if she is really heavy in the beginning then the more pain she will have, then towards the end the pain is not so bad, the lighter she gets. Good luck there is plenty of remedies to help you each month. xx
contractions of the uterus
it is only the womb contracting to get rid of the lining it doesn't need. i find a nice hot water bottle helps during this time , tell her next time she has a painful period to get a hot water bottle and wrap it up in a towel and place it on her tummy it will help ease the pain.
it is because the uterus is contracting to work to squeeze out the blood and shed its lining, so the prostaglandins (muscles making the uterus contract) are acting, hence making one have abdominal cramps.
ibuprofen/advil and a heating pad and maybe some fruit (and LOTS of water and iron) should help.
the womb contracting (cramps) to get rid of the tissue (blood) no how she feels..xx

Periods suck!?

When a girl is having her period, can she still get pregenant or people just not have sex during that time becuase its messy?Periods suck!?
yes, you can get pregnant even on your period, and some people actually do it during that time
it isn,t very sanitary doing it during your period and you could get pregnant as well

Periods have come and now gone?

I get period pain and stuff that i have them. but I got my periods this morning and now they have gone.. i been to my doctor and he said nothing to worry about... any ideas?Periods have come and now gone?
i hate it when that happens i went to see my nurse about that she said it because am on the pill and getting older i mean am only 24 for godsake.
low hormone level maybe.
harmons.
TALK ABOUT IT!, that happens to me all the time, in the morning it will be really bad and in the after noon it will be hardly anythink, just drops.
its normal just make sure your always protecting just in case! :)
am in period.am sick, about your situation maybe is a sign that period is coming
Are you breastfeeding still? I would sometimes bleed for a little while then it would disappear then I wouldn't get a period months at a time whilst breastfeeding, and when I stopped breastfeeding, they disappeared completely from october until January.
It takes a while for them to settle down sometimes because of all the hormones that like to throw wild parties still.
By all means, continue to bug your doctor if you feel that's the right thing to do, but it's just one of those things that happens after having a baby...or that's what I found anyway :)
I would wait a week and try another test if that one negative also, I would go to the doctor and make them check my beta H C G levels! are you stressed sometimes stress can make you late or miss a period all together

Period??is it normal?

is it normal to get my period once in two months ,, when i first got my period which was 8 years ago this use to happen then it got normal and i got like once every mounth but now i get once in two months is this normal?Period??is it normal?
Unusual, but could be normal for you. The variatioins in cycles appear to be endless.
But, check with your GYN, especially with your history of being stable at 2 months for a while, stable at 1 month for a while, and now stable again at 2 months.
Don't be surprised if you get referred to an endocrinologist (specialist in glands that produce hormones).
You should discuss this with your gynococlogist. My cycle has changed from month to month my entire life, now it's around 6 weeks or so, but in February, the short month, I had two. Crazy hormones!!
why dont you go to a docter and find out maybe your preganant
I would check in with your doc. & see what's going on.
Have you lost any weight recently, are you under a lot of stress or your hormones could be off a bit.

Period????

y am i not suppoes to want it ?Period????

  • Period???

how long do they usally last?Period???
A typical cycle is 28 days. Actual bleeding can last anywhere from 4 to 8 days each month.
    3-7 days depends..
Ahh. that can depend.. most poeples usually last 3-5 days. but it depends on your homones, stress level, and if your on any kind of oral contraceptive.
Depends if your on the pill or not .. mines about 3-4 days usually
4-8 days and u usually wait 21 days inbetween, dont worry use pads bc tapons r dangerous they can get stuck if string breaks
about a week. maybe alittle longer.

    Period??

I got my period today. if i exercise a lot during the weekend will it stop it from coming so heavy on monday?? i used to be in soccer and during that time my flow wasnt heavy.Period??
Exercise may help ease some of the pain of the flow but it won't completely stop it. Something else you could do to help ease some of the heaviness is to increase the level of iron you take in by eating things like spinach, raisins, and peanut butter (if not allergic to peanuts of course).
Also, because you have had problems with your periods being heavy I would recommend that you see your dr to have this situation evaluated to see what they think could be causing this.
no. If anything..excercise will make the flow HEAVIER.
Moderate sports activity will help in many ways, not only reducing flow amount. It will ease cramps, pain and inflamation. If the flow continues to be high, I recommend you visit your gynecologist soon.
i don't think it stops from flowing, because when i play soccer i just keep coming, but that just me. you on the other hand might have a heavy flow but when your playing soccer its not so heavy.
nope just a qawincidence((CAN NOT SPELL))

Period...starting stoping and then starting again??..Any idea?

Any ideas why my period last for 2 days, stops for a day and then starts again for a day but is very light??Period...starting stoping and then starting again??..Any idea?
Relax, nothing is wrong, it's normal. It happens sometimes, like if you go swimming. It'll stop in the water and resume once you're dry and at night. It slows down at night and starts again sometime during the day. Also, if you've gotten your period within the past three years, it takes some time for your body to adjust to the new changes. You'll be fine, it happens to me too.
I guess it depends on your age but you could be starting menopause.
It would be worth a visit to your doctor to find out. A simple blood test will tell you at what stage you are at.
might be that a couple of eggs came out rather than just one

Period, no period, period, no period?

having problems getting my period down. went to the doctor and she said if i lost 20 pounds- 10% body weight losed that my period would start comming down. it came down suddenley and now my second one hasn't come down. i've had this problem since my miscarriage about one year ago. two different doctors put me on two different hormones (two seperate times) and while the period did come down from them it didn't follow through on it's own like the doc said it was supposed too. whats going on? am i going to have a hard time getting pregnant because of this? i've talked to my husband and we've decided that until we get some things with finances and i get my weight down to a normal number that only then would we start trying. the miscarriage is somewhat behind me, i've had my days, but i'm worried that i'm not going to be able to later. also i don't know if this matters but i have hpv and precancerous lesions. i have had it for a year and haven't gone for the surgery yet, but i have a appt.Period, no period, period, no period?
Also, you may want to see a reproductive endocrinologist because they specialize in hormonal imbalances.
You should do some research on PCOS - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Or ask your doctor about it. Your irregular period may be a symptom caused by PCOS.

    Period, help?

okay. so my boyfriend keeps worrying me. it's been 24 days since i got my period. i'm having cramps, and my middle back is hurting. but he thinks i'm getting fat? we didn't have sex. he had a condom on and was rubbing me, like my skin and it fell off in my underwear. but he checked himself and said he wasn't wet. should i be worrying or no? i mean i usually get it between 25-30 days. he worries me alottt! i told him we're fine but i'd like to hear what other people havta say so maybe i feel better.Period, help?
first of all... even if he thinks you are getting bigger... no guy that loves you would ever say to your face that you're getting fat. it's just rude. there's nicer ways to say such a thing. if you got your period last month and it's only been 24 days... don't worry about it. your cramps and aches are because your period is coming. by the way... if he came, finished or whatever you want to call it... he shouldn't have to check and see if he is wet... he should know if he came and where it went... good luck =)
maybe period bloating? calm down honey, hes a guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
your right its usually bettween 28 to
    30 days .
why dont u get a couple pregancy tests and take those and see what happens..if it is negitive and u still dont get ur period go the the doctor..i dont think that that your preganant but it never hurts to check if ur so worried..ur boyfriend has no clue what he is talking about
While the average cycle length is 28 days, it is perfectly normal to have a menstrual cycle that lasts 21 to 35 days.

    Period weight?

u know how u can gain some weight right before your period, well i know u can gain up to 5 pounds but is it possible to gain more than that?Period weight?
Oh yea... I gain closer to ten pounds... And it comes off in a matter of a day. I even try diuertics and it does nothing.
One thing that my ob/gyn suggested & it does help a little bit (more with the breast tenderness & getting bigger (I go from a DD to a G during my period), tiredness & somewhat with the bloating - doesnt get rid of the total 10lbs) but is a vitamin b complex & b12. Take it a week before you get your period & continue till your done. I have no idea why it works - it just works for me...
Yes! Each woman is different but you can store up a whole lot of water! Some will say they don't have any water weight at all while others really suffer.
I have gained up to 7Ibs in 2 days and lost it in 5 hours! lol!

Period twice a month after coming off the injections?

my wife and I are trying for a baby. She was taking the contaceptive injections every 3 months for the last 2 years plus. I know there are some health risks involved with this method. She came off them 3 months ago and got her 1st period after about 6 weeks. She is now getting them every 2 weeks and we are a little concerned. We live in Thailand by the way.Period twice a month after coming off the injections?
She had injections of hormones to stop her ovulating and getting pregnant.
Now she has stopped her body needs to rebalance itself hormonally.
Once it has done this it should start ovulating again at a regular time.
The body is an amazing machine and will do so much to 'repair' and keep homeostasis.
It is completely normal in a lot of cases to have an irregular period after being on the depo shot. It is because the body is trying to re-regulate itself from being on the contraceptive.

    Period trouble!?

can i go swimming wit a really thin small pad or a small pantiliner or do i relly nead to use a tampon?Period trouble!?
I would suggest a tampon, anything else soaks up water and swells up like a diaper.
Of course you need to use a tampon! that's nasty!
You need to wear a tampon because pads inflat when wet and puff up.
But that's why you wear tampons becuase they go up ur vagina!
I would use a tampon. That would be like going swimming with poopy diaper on if you used cotex.
tampons arent that much of trouble. use one, forget the pain.
You need to use a tampon. A pad will get infiltrate the water which is not good for other swimmers and will get soggy.
i think you should use the tampon because if you dont you will bleed in the pool and you dont want that to happen do you?
I would suggest that you use a tampon.
1st-Pads and pantyliners do come loose and could float out and you DON'T want that.
    2nd-Tampons are just must cleaner.
How would you like it if you were swimming with a girl that was bleeding out and hopefully their pantyliner or pad would catch it?
well, you really need to use a tampon, because if you use a pad it will absorb a lot of water the moment you get in the water, and it won′t work and be very evident...
if you don′t want to have your period when you go swimming, or on your vacations, you can ask your gynecologist to " reset" your period so that it doesn′t coincide
Of course you need to use a tampon! SICK!
Actually, I wouldn't go at all! What happens if the tampon falls out?? WHAT THEN?
    SICK!
    DON"T GO!

Period symptoms came and now there gone and no period, wat up?

Period symptoms came and now there gone and no period, wat up?
if you only had a couple then it is normal...talk to you mom and if u want them to b reglar then she can take you to the doctor and they might be able to put you on birth control pills
how old are you? having a "regular" period isn't as common as many think. I have one girlfriend who had a period every 6 months. I've women in my life that were on the rag every day, ones that were never on the rag. If you've concerns talk to your allapathic doc about them, but irregular periods are common place.
Have you been under stress or maybe you are not eating right?
some times you miss i do sometimes and that is normal. especaly when you are stressed.

  • Period Questions?

What causes my period to start and stop? For example, I'll have it for 3 days, it'll stop for 1 day, so I think it's over. Then the next day it comes back. Is this normal? Sorry if this doesn't make sense, lol.Period Questions?
If you just recently started your menstrual cycle it takes a few years for it to get into check. Otherwise, you might have to visit your doctor. It probably wont be anything serious
no its not normal see your GYN
ur menstrual cycle must be irregular...do u exercise or something? are u stressed o depressed? if not, go get that checked.
yes it happens, colds stress, weather change moon cycles and planits, preshure on family and home issues, school soon to end.
How old are you? This is common in teens.
Yea this happens to me and i had it for a year and half. For the cramps ask ur mom. She mighy know something abot this.

    Period Question?

I used to have a regular period and then it started being messed up all the time. But last year i had a period for like 2 months and then it stopped for about 3 months and then I had one that lasted for 4 months...and then I had a normal one for 3 months. And now its doing the same thing. What could be the reason for this.Period Question?
Have you had an abnormal amount of stress lately? Or any major changes in your diet? Any new medications or be taken off any old medications? Sometimes these "outside" factors can affect your menstrual cycle and cause it to become irregular.
You may want to go get checked by your gynecologist because it could be a sign of a much more serious problem, such as ovarian cancer. A little abnormal isn't that disconcerting, but majorly abnormal like yours seem to be is something worth going to the doctor over.
    ur an alien
When you get your period for the first time, it's usually not gonna be a "normal" thing. You might get it every month.. You might get it once every 3 months or something.. It just changes sometimes..& If you're older, maybe your body is just going through some changes..
    Are you on any Pills?
I am going through the same thing my docter checked me for endometriosis. Also this thing calls pcos can cause this polycystic ovary syndrome look it up and see if it sounds like you.

    Period question?

Does moving around alot(like running and climbing) make your period flow less?Period question?
This is a suggestion to reduce flow and cramping, etc. The thing about being a women is we are all different, and we have to know ourselves. It hasn't helped my cramping yet, but I know gals who have. I would suggest you don't know how you will react until you try it, under dr supervision of course.
So, in theory yes, of course stay away from over doing it. The best bet is to just have a regular active life, this way you are balanced all month long and healthier too!
well ive heard people say it makes theres flow more and ive heard some say less i think it just depends on the person
im not sure about that, but it helps take the cramping away for a lil!
Doing too much exercise could potentially lighten the flow during the time you are doing the exercise. I would recommend double checking with your dr to be on the safe side though.
    No, but exercise helps cramps.
    it is better for you:
-it allows more oxygen to flow to the parts of your ody that needs it the most therfore releasing the pain when doing so or i mean easing it - my pe teacher said so actually
could you help by answering my questions p-please?!
i heard that exercise is good to relieve cramps.but i dont know about the flowing less thing..
It depends on the person. For me, while I am moving a lot, the flow is less. For others it may be the opposite.
    opposite in my opinion
    Yes, it can.

    Period question?

I havent had my period for two months, what are some things that could be causing this?
    Could A diet?Period question?
    weight loss
a lot of exercise or physical activity
    stress
change of hormones in the body
    pregnancy
A change in diet can defiantly do this, as well as hormonal changes, nerves, pregnancy of course, infection, menopause or the early stages and many other things. I would defiantly see a doctor to discuss..
    Pregnancy.
A change in diet can definitely affect a period but then so can stress. If someone is just starting out with having periods some irregularity (meaning not having periods for a couple months or so) can also be normal.
I would definitely recommend getting in touch with your dr to see what they think to be on the safe side.
Lots of things. Polycystic ovarian syndrome, hormonal contraceptives...It's not likely that your diet would cause this. Normally poor nutrition leads to an ABSENCE of menses, as your body will shut down certain functions in "starvation mode" to keep other functions running. You need to see a doctor to find out for sure.

ATTENTION: PREGNANCY NEVER CAUSES EXTENDED PERIODS OF BLEEDING.

    Period question?

My period always lasts 6-7days and this time it was late. It was only three days. I was wondering if that is normalPeriod question?
if you just got your period its normal for it to be irregular. but if you have had it for a while that's a different story. As for the fact that it is 6-7 days that is also not normal. you should see a gynecologist if you are worried
thats perfectly normal you shouldnt worry sometimes they rn short and they dont always start on the same days so dont worry

    Period question?

My period always lasts 6-7days and this time it was late. Plus it was only three days. I was wondering if that is normalPeriod question?
First of all, don't panic! It is very normal for a woman to have abnormal cycles once in a while. This happens due to a sudden change in your body (i,e, eating, exercising, etc.). This is nothing outrageous and you don't especially need to worry about it. Just do what you usually do and you should have your normal cycle back soon.
you might be pregnant, if your that worried consult your doctor!
maybe ur stressing, my girlfriend has her period late when she's stressed.
    yes..it is perfectly fine
It's normal. If you have lost or gained weight stuff like that happens.
there a lot of factors...It can be stress.A sexual desease.Change of diet.A hormonal change.Ask your doctor.
it is most likely normal because it happen to me before. just check with your docter. if you are on birth control it might also cause it.
    its not always the same
Nothing is regular...When I am stressed, I am usually always late..You had one, and I wouldn't worry unless you skip your next one..you are only human.
Mine's like that too. When I get it, it's really heavy and lasts for 6-8 days. I normally get it a couple days late, maximum a week. I asked my doctor said it's normal.

    Period question?

when you have your period does the blood come from the front or back and can you have sex when your on your period have guys felt . idont knowPeriod question?
Ummm if you have your period I am shocked you do not know it is the front.
and yes you can have sex on your period as long as the nasty mess is ok with you and your partner...personally it grosses me out!
    the front genius
Er, what do you mean 'the front or back'? There is only one vagina.
If you are bleeding heavily, the blood will be rather noticeable.
it comes from the smae place the penis goes in during intercourse ( sex) you can have sex during your period but i dont recommend it for a couple of days until your on your lighter days, mainly because witht he guy thrusting it can cuz clots from the period to cause infection, i've seen many cases and not many women are aware of this. i prefer to wait till my period is finished, its your body so you can do as you wish just be aware that their are consequences and you are more likely to fall pregnant during and straight after your period so take care - good luck

    Period question?

can your period come at any time of the day or is it normally in the morning?Period question?
    anytime it wants to...
you can get you period any time of the day .sometimes it can happen when your sleeping, midday , evening and well anytime
Your period can come at any time of the day. In the morning, afternoon or even when you are sleeping and not noticing. :)
i found that a lot of times mine came before noon oclock..
but now i dont get one bc im pregnant lol.
i didnt start the day ''i was saposed to'' and that night i took a pregnancy test and sure as heck...
    here i am mommy!!
It can come at any time of the day.
    nah everyday
it can definitely can come at any time of day, morning, noon, or night. sometimes it just seems like it starts in the morning but, it may have actually started the night before while sleeping. You just cant tell until you wake up and are not horizontal anymore. if you are expecting to start on a certain day, and it doesnt start in the morning, i suggest wearing a liner just to be prepared.
Your period can come any time, anywhere.
    Go to this site:

It will tell you everything you need to know about your periods and other fun female body functions.
    Take care!

    Period question?

Can you have sex if you don't have your period.Period question?
Yes it is physically possible to have sex before you get your period, but I would not recommend it as you are most likely fairly young. And even if you do chose to have sex, you might still get pregnant since you could ovulate for the first time before you get your first period, as well as get a sexually transmitted disease. I would suggest if you are going to have sex, to use condoms to prevent pregnancy as well as STDs. I don't know if a doctor will give you birth control pills if you haven't started your period yet, due to the hormones that are involved.
If you mean sex before a girl starts having periods, it's not smart. Bodies mature at different rates.
you mean - haven't had period yet? then no because you are a child and should know the rules of sex. Talk to your parents to explain. Why hurt your body early? sure you can't get pregnant if you haven't gotten period yet, but you can catch other viruses and diseases down there. So think twice before jumping into sex with anybody or everybody that wants to.
Lol no...you must be VERY young. Don't give yourself away now...you should wait a little longer...way longer, actually.but yeah, there is still chances that you could get pregnant...an egg might be there but hasnt released yet...so it could get fertilized.

    Period question?

I am 28 years old and have 3 kids. I had a Tubal ligation 5 years ago. Since then I have had nothing but problems with my period. Recently (in the last 2 years I have had heavy infrequent periods. They come about once every 2 to 3 months(not that I'm complaning). But when they do it is VERY HEAVY with clots. I have had the golf ball sized clots. The doctors cant give me an explanation other than my weight. They have talked about endometrial Ablation. I dont have fibriods Either.
My question is Does anyone else suffer from this? What have thy done about it?Period question?
since i had my tubal im also irregular and i bloat so bad, i dont know why this happens, i have been tested for everything and had sonos done, and they cant find out why either, i just drink lemon water for the bloat and exersize to keep my periods regular, and try birth control to regulate your bleeding
when I had that happen to me ,the Dr ordered a D&C and it cleared it up

I've had my period since 7th grade, (im in 11th now) and sometimes it has months where it goes a bit carzy. Last summer i skipped 2 months, and this winter i skipped one.
You're still very young, and your body isnt used to bleeding once a month yet. Its getting the hang of creating a schedule.
    You're perfectly normal. =)
you body takes 1 full year to get used the change. if you don't have you next period soon i would go and aks your doctor. one thing you shouldn't do is stress or worry over it. stress can lead to an off balance and just make you late. i hope this helped

    Period question, well kinda?

I just went to the bathroom and wiped and had a TINY TINY amount of blood on the toilet paper..like not even bright red kinda like a pink but really light reddish..i just had my period not this past wednesday but the wednesday before.so i know i'm not getting it again.however i just got off the birth control pill...i had been on it for 3 years and just got off it.i wouldnt even call it blood, i really don't know what it was.it wasn't discharge either just looked a little pink very light red and VERY SMALL.anyone know what it could be?Period question, well kinda?
As long as you aren't having any discomfort urinating I wouldn't be too concerned. A little spotting between periods isn't unusual when you have hormonal changes (such as starting or stopping birth control pills). If you do have any discomfort when urinating or you're going a tiny bit frequently you could have a bladder infection (sometimes called UTI).
Even if you're spotting frequenly I wouldn't be concerned unless you're experience pain or other symptoms. Cylce irregularities are very common when coming off birth control. Hope this helps!
It may be what is called "break through bleeding", either when you get on or off of birth control pills, it sometimes throws your cycle off a bit. Keep an eye, if it becomes more or painful, call your doctor, but at this stage I wouldn't even worry about it.

    Period Question!!?

ok so i have had my period now for a little over a year. it has been kinda consistent but when im on my period i always have it for like a week..will it always be this long or will it become shorter as i become older??Period Question!!?
Most girl's periods are inconsistent during the first year while their hormones are adjusting so you lucked out by being able to have consistent ones from the start.
It is normal to have cycles that range from 28-31 days between periods and to bleed anywhere from 3-7 days.
you can have where you spot the first day or two then flow heavier then tapper off to spotting again towards the last day or two. Or you can flow heavy the whole time.Things like stress, hormone fluctuations and pregnancy can change your cycles. If it concerns you, make an appt with a GYN who can help you more.
i've heard that as you get older ur period is irregular. get checked just incase
every grl is different...mine has been 3-4 days for 10 years and im 21..my mom is the same..i know some adults with long periods..everyone is different.if you wish to have a shorter period you shoud think about getting on the pill
Mine was 6 days when i first started.but now it is more 3-4 days.It really depends on your body and if your taken certain kind of meds.It just depends on your body.
I have had mine for like 14 years now and it still is about 6-7 days. It is someting that we as women deal with because we are woman. I guessing you are not old enough by your mom's standards to get on the pill, but they do have those that get rid of your period now, but I do not take them because that is messing with the natural balance of the body, seems kinda wrong to me. Sorry, but it will probally be like that until you reach middle life.

    Period question (please answer)?

i took a shower before school and during the whole school day my period was extremely light. but when i got home it got heavy again. i been having heavy Flo's all week. is this normal? im irregular if ya wanna knowPeriod question (please answer)?
Yes, it's normal...sometimes your hormones do what they want to do.
yes. its normal. same thing here.
Sitting seems to pool the flow inside, then standing and moving lets it go.
When you shower or bath your period will become light. This is normal.
The one thing that I have learned about having a period ... is they're never regular or the same ... your body is changing all the time and everything & anything affects your cycle :
Stress, certain types of food, exercise, drinking water, having sex, swimming, sick, standing, sitting ... etc ... !
If you're not sure about something - ask your doctor ... !

    Period Problems?

So I was talking to my friends mom the other day and we were talking about missing our periods. I havent had a period in Five months and This whole time ive been thinking Im pregnet. But no signs have showed up and all test have came back negitive. Then she told me that living with females can have a big effect on your period. My mom had moved out In January and my last period was December. Can her leaving be the reason why ive missed?Period Problems?
There are many reasons for missed periods. Stress is a big factor, being underweight, hormonal issues, etc. Go see your doctor.
Yeah could be a huge factor. Stress can stop them, and a huge weight loss too.
hey, it could possibly be emotional stress or if you have been working out lately...that could be one of the reasons. Are you gaining weight? consult ur doctor and check for PCOs.
Young girls tend to have them. Good luck and God bless!
emotions and stress can greatly affect your period. it is a medical fact . I think you should try to relax , or try some mild exercise . it is always betteer to consult your doctor .
If you are in your teenage years, it's normal to have irregular periods and/or miss periods. If there's no chance that you are pregnant (you haven't had unprotected sex), don't worry about it. It will come when it's ready. Also, Yes, your mum leaving could have an impact on your period.

    Period Problems?

My friend (and roommate) has been too embarressed to ask her doctor about her period problems. I am really worried because she has had her period for about a month now. She says that she does not feel dizzy or anything. Her period just never ended. I am trying to convince her to go to her doctor but I she don't want to go. does anyone have any idea what is wrong?Period Problems?
i once bled for one year straight! i had an IUD and it caused it somehow. she should take some iron supplement for sure. and no..it's not normal and she should go the dr. a period is a shedding of your uterus...she could have a tumor or a cyst.
    anemia.
I don't know what is wrong... but is it a normal period? if it is just spotting, she might be pregnant. tell her it is very important for her to go to the doctor because she is loosing too much blood if it is a normal period. i hope everything works out well!
If she is on birthcontrol then that can be a normal side effect. It could also be reversed endometreosis, which instead of not bleeding you bleed all the time and that is a serious condition and needs to be treated by her physicain
she should go to the doctor because she might have a cyst. he will put her on birth control and then it will all be better.

    Period Problems. Please help.?

Okay, I'm fourteen and I've had my period for almost three years. For the past couple of days, my discharge (I don't have my period right now) has been a darkish-brown. There's no more discharge than usual and I don't have any pain or discomfort anywhere, it's just really dark brown. Almost like dried blood, which wouldn't make since cause I'm not supossed to get my period for another week or two (I'm irregular). Any possible explanations? Oh, and one other thing, I'm a virgin so I know it can't be an STD or pregnancy.Period Problems. Please help.?
sounds like your just starting your period a week or so early, that happens to me on occasion. the dark brown is blood. if you don't start your normal bleeding in the next day or so talk to your mom or school nurse or someone.
IT could be just spotting between periods. Dont worry about it.

    Period Problems!?

I think this is my 8th time getting my period. My 7th time was on April 12. And i'm cramping a lot so i think i'll get it soon. but even if i do get it tommarow it'll be a 20 day cycle instead of a 28!! I'm mostly always like a week early!! Is their something wrong with me?Period Problems!?
Probably not. During the first year of your period is "normal" to have this problems, that is why some gynecologist prescribe bith control pill, to "regulate" your hormones and periods. You might want to try that. But. this doesn't mean that you are going to have sex, ok? ;-)
Everyone is different. Talk to your doctor

    Period problems =( Help!?

I just started my period and I feel like I need to throw up & I can't sleep. I used medicine but it isn't helping. I only got 3 hours of sleep last night and every time I lay down I feel like I can breath well and and I need to throw up.
Anyone else have any problems like this?Period problems =( Help!?
Hey Sabby - i had the same exact symptoms a few months ago... I was tired of taking OTC meds and i looked online for natural remedies. I found out that there is an enzyme in pineapple that helps completely aleviate period aches and pains. Its called Bromelain. You can get it online or at almost any health food/vitamin store.
I take 2 pills before bed and i sleep really well, and my cramps are totally gone. Its not a sleep-aid or sedative, its just your body's reaction to the enzyme, i assume. it relaxes your abdominal muscles and the muscles that cause cramps. It also helps bloating. Its way better than midol because those regular meds from CVS or whatever are all chemicals and only work half the time.
Mind you, I never looked into natural cures or remedies before and i was getting so sick with my period i had to try something else... and lo-and-behold, this really worked. I try to tell all my girlfriends about it because its better for you than taking midol or pamprin, etc. its a 100% natural pineapple enzyme - and it works.
    good luck and feel better!
ok PMS is a POWERFUL THING there are many many web sights... check um out get some PAMPERINE NOT MIDOL... also lots of water and NO Soda. dont forgt to eat... and relax get a heating pad... ull be ok
really try to find a Bowen therapist. I have had alot of success treating women for period pain, PMS and irregular periods.

    Period Problems ...?

I started my period last Wed and on Saturday I had sex. Since then, I've been experiencing light bleeding, and I also have cramps. Is this normal? I've had sex before when my period was nearly done and this never happened ...Period Problems ...?
it really depends. did u bleed straight after having sex or just during normal your normal dates?
    * bleeding after sex could be symptoms to drugs, so r u on any medication?
    * how bout your diet, did u change anything in your diet?
    * or is your partner on any form of medication.
basically it could be a mixture of things. but here are some website that could be helpfull to u.
Was the period you had normal compared to the ones you usually have? It's possible all of this bleeding and cramping are early pregnancy signs.
If you got pregnant Saturday that would be way too soon to have implantation bleeding and cramping, but if you conceived a ways back, it might explain it.
There's also a miniscule possibility that you experienced a very early miscarriage and you thought it was a period, and you are still having some light bleeding and cramping leftover from it.

  • Period pills?

I have heard about pills you take during your period to help cramps, head aches, and mood swings. Are they realy and if they are do they do any good if so can you recimend a good brand?
ps sorry about spelling mistakes!Period pills?
Any pain killer usually helps.. Tylenol, Advil, etc. Midol is a brand that is made especially for aches, cramps and bloating from periods.
    midol
pills do not do anything good for you during your period because no matter how much pills you take you still get period pain it is normal with time the pain will go away alrite..but if the pain gets out of hand you need to go see the doctor cos pills wont work.
I have had bad experience with midol because there is an ingredient in it that can make the user drowsy. I get so groggy after taking it that I have stopped taking it. I would go with advil or tylenol. But a good natural way to feel better is to take a 30-45 minute walk to relax your muscles, drink some tea, definitely use a hot pack on your sore areas, take a hot bath or eat some chocolate.

    Period Pains?

I'm getting really bad cramps at the mo and can't find any painkillers in the house. I've got a heat patch thingy on my stomach which is helping a little, but my tighs are in agony. Has anyone got any suggestions? I'm desperate!Period Pains?
you need your comfy pj's a bar of chocolate, mug of cocoa and a cumfy bed with a good film,
i would invest in a wheat pillow next time, those sausage shape pillows you heat up in the microwave, brilliant for p pains
hot water bottle, hot bath, soft bed. and lemsips are always gd. that usually works for sum people
have a warm bath, or try and sleep so you dont feel the pain.
like the other people said warm bath helps the most and try one of those hot to cold patches it might help your mussils in that area to cool down
Like we were taught at school, eat a bit of fruit and light exersise, sitting around feeling sorry for yourself will only make it worse. COME ON WHAT ARE YOU A "WOMEN" OR A "MAN"?
Going for a walk is supposed to help but as it's the last thing you feel like doing, we won't go there!
Have the hottest bath you can stand, and stay in it for as long as you can. If it worked for me in labour, I'm sure it can help with your period.
Try to relax-easier said than done I know- being tense will make it worse.
If it's always like this, then maybe you need to take a trip to the Well Woman Clinic...
    Good luck.
a tot of whiskey works wonders
i sympathise with you, get a hot water bottle get in bed with some chocolate and your fave film and try and relax and before you know it it will feel better, xxxxxxxxxxxx
Try having a cup of tea, then lie on your back with your legs up the wall (your body in an L shape).

    Period pain?

im 23 have a 6 month old and ive noticed my period cramps are much more intense since i had her and right now im in very intebce pain ive taken midol but it isnt helping like it usually does? has anyone got any good suggestions to ease the pain something i can find at home ?Period pain?
Try any of these, might help
    heating pad
vitamin B12--gotta eat something first though
    chamomile or peppermint tea
    hot bath
    Vitamin D and magnesium
    Cup of coffee
    rasberry leaf tea
A teaspoon of salt in a glass of water (?)
Drink orange juice vitamin c helps it says in my home remedy book
This is normal. Your uterus is still shedding. Contact your OBGYN or (my favorite) Pharmacist and she/he will tell you what is okay to take without causing extra bleeding.
Buscopan(hyoscine) is the answer to ur pain as it stops the crampy pains & best for period pain.
Aleve is the best thing you can get for cramping without an RX. That's what my Dr. used to prescribe me before it became over the counter. Good Luck!
My cramps were the same way, got worse after a child. Its been 10 years and i still have killer, crippling me for the first few day type cramps. What I do to help make it tolerable, single mom cant miss work, I take 2 advil migraine (works the fastest) or 3 extra strength Advil at the first sign of cramps and then as soon as i feel them returning i take more and i do this for the first 3 days of my period. I also soak in a hut tub frequently to help ease up the pain.
I have 2 words for you...
    Heating Pad!
Hope this helps and Congrats on the baby!

    Period or brown discharge?

i only had a couple periods and im due and i looked and there was a dot of dark brown in my undies and i wiped and it was brown. nothing is coming out and my stomach was hurting but it stopped so what is it?Period or brown discharge?
If you haven't had sex, you shouldn't be worried. The brown discharge right before your period is known as spotting. Spotting is nothing serious, unless you miss a period. Spotting occurs because your body is clearing out the old blood. Its pretty normal. Be patient, because your period will end up coming in a few days.
I get that right before i get my period and my stomach will stop hurting then it will end up being my period and i get cramps a day later
I would say that is completely normal. All brown blood is is old blood. You could be menstruating but very little, so when the little bit does come out it is already brown when you see it on your pad/tampon. The pains in your stomach sounds like you're starting to get cramps as well. You get cramps when the lining of your uterus starts to shed.
Things should start to regulate within a few months or so, up to a year.
Congrats on becoming a woman, lol.
It sounds like the start of your period, it's quite disturbing when it's likethat, but i think it's pretty much normal so don't worry. You're stomach hurting is probably just cramps.
If you're really disturbed then see a doctor, it can't hurt, they might give you something if your cramps are really bad, or they might just explain waht's really going on inside your body.
Don't worry when I first got my period it would turn a brown to a black a few days before it ended nothing to worry about it still happens like that to my sister its nothing to worry about.

    Period on prom?

i'm supposed to get my period the day before prom. i usually get it right on time, i'm on birth control. my mom said it was fine if you skipped a period, i also read it in seventeen magazine. like you just don't take the last week of pills, and just went on to the next pack, anyone done this? or can give me details on it? also, how do you go about the next pack?..just normally?Period on prom?
I have done this before but I still spotted a little that week. I took the next pack normally and had no problems.
The last week of pills aren't even hormones. They are just sugar pills. The last week is just so you don't get off track. By not taking them doesn't mean you are not going to have a period.
I wouldn't mess with your cycle. Lots of problems can follow.
I have skipped the last week of birth control pills and went on to the next. It doesn't work. I was a brides maid when I was supposed to get mine. The dress was a pale pink cream color and I didn't want to get a stain so I skipped and went on. Let me tell you what, my period was heavier and for the first time and in front of all those people I had a huge red stain on the back of that dress. So if you don't bleed heavy on the second or third day just take them it will save you a lot of grief and many embaricing pictures later.

Period lasts less than a day?

my period came on, on sunday night, im on the pill and dont normally come on till the monday after i take my last pill of the pack but this month i have come on the night before i usually do
by the time it got to monday my period had more or less stopped, when i go to the toilet and wipe myself there is blood but nothing in the sanitary towel
any ideas? is it just a light period? can periods change from month to month?Period lasts less than a day?
Periods can change from month to month. The pill also has a tendency to make periods lighter and shorter.
If this is reallly out of the ordinary for you, you might want to take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side, but my guess is that you just got lucky enough to have a light period this month.
It can be just a light period, periods are usually lighter when you ar on the pill. Your doctor may also want to put you on a lower dose pill so that your periods are more regular.
periods can change from month to month, regardless of if you're on the pill or not. sometimes it's light, sometimes it's heavy.
    consider yourself lucky!!
if you're really concerned, call your doctor.
You can have a little bit of bleeding if you are pregnant. Or, if you've lost weight it can reduce your periods. If you are very thin they can stop all together. Also, people who are overweight can also have shorter periods. Stress can also confuse your hormones and effect your periods. Can be lots of things!?

    Period help?

Is there a period planner where it predicts WHEN you'll have your first period?Period help?
    mymonthlycycles.com
no, not really, it all depends on how much you weigh and everything, but if you talk to your doctor about it they might have some general Idea
It will probably happen sometime between age 9-19. There is no way to predict - except to research when your female relatives started to get their periods. Average age is 12-13 I think.
Average onset of puberty and menstruation among American girls is roughly between the ages of 8-12. Some before some after..Many young girls will follow suit and start around the same age as their mom...So ask mom.
    yes

    Period Help!?

My period is now 8 days late. I have a long time boyfriend who I am sexually active with. We have had sex maybe 5-10 times in the last month and have worn a condom EVERY time. (as usual)
I have taken three Home Pregnancy Tests and they have all been clearly negative. One on the fourth day, one on the fifth day, and one yesterday.
I have very sore breasts, and cramps which feel like my period is about to start... but nothing else really.
I just quit my job and am looking for a new one... so I am definitely stressed. And obviously, I have been very scared about this for the past week. I am terrified I might be pregnant but all the tests say no.
I was wondering what other people thought. I know that your period can sometimes just change it's cycle, or be late due to stress... so... advice? Similar experiences?Period Help!?
8 days is not that late. If you are stressed, lost/gained weight that may be cause for it to be late or for it to not come at all. If you are having the normal PMS symptoms I would say it's on its way! Give it a couple more days it will come.
Stress can cause your period to be late, there can be other factors as well. You said you just quit your job that may factor as your period will follow other womens period. Women who work together often have their periods around the same time.
I would recommend a visit to the doctor to check to make sure it is not a pregnancy or something more serious.
wait another week and if it doesn 't come go to a gyn. or get tested by your doctor. Depending on your age check with your mom. If she doesn't know GO TO THE DOCTOR!

    Period help!?

Okay i am just starting to regulate my period and for the last two days it has been stopping around 11, 12 at night.
Does that mean i'm stopping? or waht do i do?
    Do i put a tampon in?Period help!?
My period usually slows down at night too. I think a pad would be better since it's seizing, ya know? I think too that the blood pools at night from laying down because when I wake up to go to the bathroom in the morning...yeaaaaaaaa. All I see is RED. Haha.
My period flow would always slow down at nite too when I would have my periods. As for what to sleep with I would also recommend a pad as it is better at catching the flow that may get moving around as you move around in your sleep. I would also recommend that if your flows are heavy to put a towel like the size of a beach towel on your bed as additional back up to protect the sheets as you sleep.

    Period help plz?

i havent gotten my period it was suppose to come the begining of this week where is it? im young and get it usually kinda on time im not pregnant becasue i havent done it so where is it oh ya i was kind little bleeding but then it went awayPeriod help plz?
It's normal to have late periods early on in your menstral history. My periods vary from a few days early to a week late. It's also normal to occasionally skip a period if you are extremely stressed or if you have gained/lost a lot of weight.
periods come at differnt times just wait and be patient even though you may have some cramps they will come and go dont worry
Sometimes your period does not come at the right specific time you expect it to come. Sometimes you will not even have it that month. It is not a scheduled thing. Make sure you are ready in case it comes though. Hope that helps :)
its normal dont worry bout it its not normal yet because your at a point in your life where its comes diffrent time it can be unperfect
hey darling welcome to the wonderful world of being a woman we know our bodies inside out and upside down but yet they are a mystery to us. im nearly 30 and my cycle is still confusing to me dont know if that helps you at all but if you havent had sex then you are not pregnant i just suggest you see your doc maybe get the pill and that will help regulate your cycle and stop unnecessary worry for you.dont worry yourself availe of the information thats there it does help and so easy to get your hands on school councilor or free family planning clinic, not just for people in trouble there for you and i as well just good information no judgement

  • Period has been 2 weeks late for the past 2 months?

my cycle has been 32 days since i've been off the pill (off for over 2 yrs now) but it has been atleast 2 weeks late for the last 2 months. what is going on here? all pregnancy tests have been negative and i have not had anything out of the ordinary go on in my life - no weight gain, "normal" stress level, no change in diet. i am thinking about calling my doc but i don't want to jump the gun here. what should i do?Period has been 2 weeks late for the past 2 months?
You should see your ob/gyn about this. You may just have irregular cycle lengths- what were they before you started birth control. A more ominous concern (especially if you are still interested in having children and depending on your age) could be menopause (or early menopause depending on your age). You should ask other older females in your family about their onset of menopause b/c it seems to be genetic. I would go to your doctor, especially if concerned about fertility, so that they can make recommendations or do hormone testing. Hope this helps.
It's your hormones. Now that you're off the pill, it may be some time before your body adjusts.
Are you around a different set of women? Sometimes your body will change it's cycle to match that of an alpha female. Sometimes womens cycles are longer and/or shorter than 28 days. If you know you are not pregant then there shouldn't be any issues. If you're really worried just check in with you Doc. The nurse should be able to answer your question.
thats one side effects of taking pills for a long time, period will be delayed or sometimes it becomes irregular.Another one you might develop some lumps from your breast so watch out for that.

    Period for one day?

I just got my period yesterday afternoon, and three were three dime sized drops of blood. I haven't gotten it since yesterday.is this normal for someone just starting?Period for one day?
It definitely sounds normal. You're one of the lucky ones that gets a pre-period warning. Make sure you have supplies on you as it may get worse in a few days
    ~~welcome to womanhood~~
This is normal since you are just starting out. The first year or so you will be very erratic but then it will gradually settle into a routine,.

    Period Cycle?

My cycle is usually 28 days. But lately it has been different each time. Last time my period was a couple of days late, I believe I started on cycle day 30. This time my period is a couple of days early. I'm on cycle day 25 and I started my period today. I'm not on birth control, so I know it's not that. Is this normal?Period Cycle?
If you're getting your period within a few days of when it's due, you're still considered to have a normal cycle. Keep in mind, not everyone has a 28 day cycle, some people's are 25 days, some are more like 33. You don't have anything to worry about unless they start getting way off balance, like 2 weeks early one month, then 3 weeks late. Otherwise, you sound pretty normal.
yes it is normal to be irregular
well sometimes happens... it might keep that 30 day and 26 day for sometime... perhaps u should go and check it to a doctor. Though i dont think its something to worry about coz i know other women who deal with this 'problem' too.
Well, sometimes if ur super angry, it could set ur period back a few days, and if ur really stressed, it could come earlier.
its just nothing to worry about .my mom's a doctor and it happens oftenly to me. she says it is normal.

    Period craps or appendisitis?

i have had cramps on my lower right side for a few hours, it is the 3rd day of my period, i am 12. Is it just normal period cramps or appendisitis? I need to know.Period craps or appendisitis?
if it is appendicitis the pain will only get worse and it is horrible, stabbing pain. it is hard to even move when your appendix is rupturing. period cramps are bad, but nowhere near to the pain of an appendix rupturing. if it gets worse or doesn't seem like its going away, tell your parents and have them take you to the ER Good luck!!
Doesn't ovulation usually hurt in the back more?
If it's bad enough, I'd get checked for appendicitis.
I've had appendisitis... how does the pain feel.. when I had it, I felt like I was about to pass out.
if the pains stay the same it is your period =if they get so that it doubles yo over with the pain, then it's your appendix
Its very most likely that its your period.if you had apendicitis then it would be hurting horroribly like not being able to walk w/ out crying bad,..ask your mom?
pain from appendicitis is generally speaking severe enough that you would not question whether or not it was just menstrual cramps. But along with that pain, you would likely have a high fever, nausea, and possibly vomiting. If you feel better when you lay still with a nice warm heating pad on your lower tummy it is cramps, if you do that with appendicitis the pain will intensify.
i think it normal i am 13 that use to happen to me too all the time i user to get some medicine that will be fine don't worry that will be fine
it's cramps. i've had appendicitis before, and i threw up non-stop for 13 hours, and had such intense pain that i couldn't move or breathe. anyways, i hope i helped!

    Period Cramps?

Ok I am 12 and will be 13 friday. The problem is I have been having cramps lately and I have never had a period. But I kinda feel nausiated. Is that normal? is it pms or am i getting sick?Period Cramps?
you probably are getting your period.. and right your birthday.. same with me when I got my period on my 12th birthday ha not a great birthday.
pms has to do with your mood not exactly your stomach. your period could be coming. i would suggest wearing a ultra thin pad or a liner for awhile until your period comes. the nausia, i would say your probably just sick. talk to mom, grandma, or another female (or even male) that u trust.
You might just be getting sick. The cramps could just be wind or your stomach being all churney.
Feeling nausia is completly normal believe me I'm 27 and get it every month. It helps me to eat some thing like cheese or crackers but you should stay away from sugar, for me sugar makes you feel 50 times worse. Hope I've helped...
This could mean your period could be coming. Or it could be just a bad stomachace due to something you ate.

    Period confusion.?

I have a monthly cycle from 26 to 30 days long. On April 27th I thought I started my period because I wiped and it was pink. That would be day 28 of my cycle. I waited and waited, but only had spotting for 2 days. Not even enough to fill a panty liner. The 3rd day the spotting was brown discharge. Again, only when I wipe. Todays is day 5, and day 4 there was nothing, and today a extremely tiny bit of brown again. Normally my periods are very heavy and 6 days long with only the 6th day being brown. I am concerned because about 3 or 4 days before the spotting started I had cramping in my lower abdomen, mainly on the left, but also on the right.
Anyone else experience something similar? And what was the problem?
I took a pregnancy test the morning the spotting started because I woke up and wasn't bleeding, so I thought I should check and it was negative. Was that too soon to test?
I have been having periods for about 10 years, and this has never happened. Thank you for your helpPeriod confusion.?
It is possible you are pregnant. Sometimes the tests register negative early on. For some women it even takes a few more weeks before HcG hormone registers in the urine.
Maybe you could take another one in a few days.
I'm really regular like you and have 6-day periods, so I always know I'm pregant when I miss my period.
maybe u should go see a doctor

    Period confusion.. help plzz?

This is a question for my mom..She's 45 and usually has her period for 5 days but now she's going on for 9 days..she's feeling back pain, cramps and even tenderness in the breats... has this happened to you..or do you know what could have caused this?Period confusion.. help plzz?
i would advise to go to the doctor, but thats just me.
best of luck. my wishes to ya!
I can be sure that it is a symptom of her menopause which usually occurs at this age. Better consult your doctor
There may be several causes for this, it could be menopause, cervical cancer, or any other illness. The best thing to do is go to a DOCTOR AND FAST. I hope everthing goes well with your mom.
hey, sorry to hear your mum is having such problems.
This could be caused by many things - a cyst, firbroids, sometimes menopause can cause unusual periods though normally there are a lot more symptoms and then a lack of menses.
The other symptoms may indicate an infection of some kind - this doesn't mean an STD or anything, but these can be quite serious if left untreated.
I would suggest she goes and sees her ob gyn - there are several reasons for this and some worse than others - better to get it checked out.
Finally, a possibility is pregnancy/miscarriage - pregnancy can cause long but very light bleeding, and a miscarriage can cause the bleeding and the other symptoms, especially when it is a very early miscarriage the 'period' comes on time and is just heavier than normal.
Hope your mom gets everything sorted out and that you both feel more relaxed. Good luck

    Period and the pill?

ok so i got the pill the other day and was told to take it the first day of my next period. so i just started my period about an hour ago but obviously its more convenient for me to take the pill in the mornings so i should just start taking it tomorrow morn? yes? because its still within 24hrs of starting my period so it should be right? lol sorry just checking.Period and the pill?
In the morning should be close enough. Taken on day one your contraceptive cover starts straight away. As a new pill user it is worth reading the data sheet in the pack right through.
That is fine, you don't have to take your first pill on the very first hour of your first period on the pill, LOL. It is more important that you take it at the time of day that is convenient for you; you will have better results if you take the pill at the same time every day.
yea as long as its 24hrs after and if the mornins more conveniant it will be fine. dont be sorry you might think its a stupid question but its best to be safe

    Period and ovulation question>?

my period was supposed to start on April 16th, it started early on the 9th short and light. So next month when should I start? Do I count 29 days from the ninth or the 16th and when should I ovulate? Do I count from the 9th or the 16th?Period and ovulation question>?
Count from the 9th, the day it started.
    Count from the 9th.
it really all depends on what your body does lol sometimes our periods get wierd and there is nothing u can do about it. i advise u where a pad from the ninth next month 2 when u actually get your period. then u cn do all the regular things
Generally, it takes a healthy woman/girl from 21 to 35 days between the beginnings of each period.
For example, if it starts April 1st, it's okay to repeat between April 21st until May 5th.
Taking less than 21 days or more than 35 days is a sign that you should check with a doctor.
If you are young, less than 21 years, you might experience your period at irregular times, but as long as they are falling within the 21:35 day-limit, you are okay.
Ovulation happens on the medial day between two periods.
A great website that I have used for years to keep myself straight is FERTILITY FRIEND . COM (without the spaces!) It will help you understand when your period should be there each month, when you are fertile, etc. A truly wonderful website and other women are there to help answer your questions as well!!
    HTH! Good luck!

    Period and emotions?

i feel so depressed and lonely when i'm about to have my period or the first day...like so depressed that i almost cry...the loneliness, the darkness...those are so deep. i was wondering if anyone went through this, if so what did they do? like i've been having my period for exactly 12 years and this feeling of depression started 2 years ago and gets worse as the years go by. what did u do if u ever felt like this?Period and emotions?
I have this too...I just recently realized thats what it was too.
For a period of time I'd be so depressed and want to kill myself and my friends would be like "Oh tomarrow your going to start your period" and i would say things like 'shut up you don't know my pain' and looking back I was ridiculous but I always get borderline suicidal around my period I just try to remain strong sense I know it will pass...and girl I cry 24/7 for about 3 days before. Can goto a doctor but I learned that its just how I am.
This is premenstrual syndrome and can have debilitating effects on your emotions because of hormone fluctuations. If you can tolerate birth control pills, they are highly rec commended to lessen these symptoms. also the anti-depression drug Paxil is quite effective.
The week before my period i'm very lonely. I cry at night and when I'm driving. Like I know I'm going to get my period because this week I've cried over stupid stuff.
If it's that bad, you might want to consider going on birth control. It may get your depression under control.
It sounds like PMDD -- a more sever form of PMS. Usually means you need some meds to regulate hormones and elevate mood.

  • PERIOD and BREASTS?

I just got my breasts and period i really like a guy and i feel unconfortable around him what should i do??PERIOD and BREASTS?
He doesn't need to know that you got your period. It's a private thing, anyway.
Yes, he might notice your chest but all guys do. However, if he is a good guy he will not stare or make you feel uncomfortable.
Tell him you have the flu and feel like you are going to throw up.or you have homework or chores to get done.
Be yourself. i dont think he needs to know abot your period because its a privite thing. if he still does not like you well then flant what you got but dont try to make him drool
he will never know and talk to your mom
He will never know you had your period. And if he notices your chest (which he probably will) just act normal and most guys do not mention anything about this because they really do not care. Breasts are a sign of beauty!

Period after a few days of taking the emergency contraceptive pill?

Sometime last week my bf and I had sex and the condom broke but we didn't notice till later. I went to a health centre and took a emergency contraceptive pill to be on the safe side, and today I got my period. This is strange because I just finished my period the week before I saw my bf. Timeline: --> Week 1: Period Week 2: Emergency Pill Week 3: Period. This is my first time taking the emergency pill and I was wondering, is this normal??? Should I be worried?Period after a few days of taking the emergency contraceptive pill?
the same thing happend me a wile ago, i had a second period that month, the following month my period came on the normal date so the pill jus gav me an extra period, it was darker in colour as u described and was as heavy as a normal period would be for me. I dont think u hav anything to worry about as things r normal for me but if u r worried speak 2 ur doctor. it was the first time id taken the pill as well, i presume it was levonelle u took?type it into google, they hav their own website with questions and stuff on it, really thou, ul be fine!
The pill can make you bleed...that is a side effect,,however, when I am educating my patients I always tell them, that although you might bleed a little, it should not bring on your period,,,therefore, you probably should go see a dr. take care
    i think it's normal.
    was the bleeding heavy?

    Period advise?

every time before my period are duei have sore legs a sore arm and really sore breasts does anyone experience this aswell if so could you please tell me how i can help thisPeriod advise?
I suffer too with these problems, but I find that the more active i am, the less pain I get.
I have given up trying differnt herbal remedies and all that stuff, I just have one paracetamol, if it gets too bad. (and plenty of chocolate!)
Yes.me :( it's crap isn't it. I think it's quite normal. Bath's always help me. You can also take evening primrose oil, you have to take quite a high dose all the time and it takes a while to start working, when it does though it really helps, especially with the sore boobs.
if ure not taking the pill, maybe u shud,it helps heavy periods,go ure gp if it really annoyin u
no, idk about that kind of stuff only the sore legs and sore breasts. i just rest and b done with it.

    Period advise?

ok i started my periods about 7 months ago but i dont seem to hav them every month its this normal? will they stay like this or start to become more monthly? are they even periods?Period advise?
the first year of your period can be irregular... heck mine never really got regular. just keep up with it on a personal calandar. it'll straighten out eventually
pretty soon you can tell its coming a mile away, pay attention to your body.
your skin may have more break outs, you will feel all bloated, some cramping, maybe moody, just know yourself.
yes, they are periods, yes it is perfectly normal to be irregular for the first year or so, and even longer. chances are you will become more regular, but even if you don't it's no cause for concern, it's just one of those things that happens to some people.
yep at first they can be slow cuz all kind of changes are happening,,you are normal and ok

People that have the Mirena IUD ?

I have two children under 2 and probably won't be trying again for at least a few years. I'm considering getting an IUD but I don't know of anyone who has had one. Would you recommend the Mirena IUD? Any complaints about it?People that have the Mirena IUD ?
I have a mirena IUD and have had it for about 10 months and I love it! It didn't hurt anymore than a pap (not for me at least to have it inserted), it takes all of about two seconds to have inserted and i only cramped while adjusting to it for a day or two. After that it's great because you dont even know its there! I would definitely recommend it for you! I got mine after only having one child but not wanting another for a while and it has been great! My periods have been lighter and have mostly stopped, you dont have to worry about condoms or creams or anything when you are in the mood! I would definitely say at least talk to your gyno about it and get some more info from them!
my sister in law got one a few months ago, and her only complaint was pain during the insertion and cramping that same day.
I'm a nurse at an OB-GYN office. The Mirena IUD is the best out there. It's the more "natural" IUD. I feel that if you go to the actual site, www.mirena-us.com/faq.html, all your questions will be answered. Good luck to you and hope this helps.
I have the Paragaurd (the 10 yr one) and I've had it since 2004, and I havent had any complaints. My gyno told me that my periods would be heavier, but I havent really noticed a difference. But overall it's been the most effective contraceptive so far. Good luck...

    Penis size?

i am 16 years old and have a 3.5" floppy and a 6" erect penis. also my girth is 3" is this big or small ?Penis size?
I've always lived by this motto."a 3 inch tongue will run a 7 inch penis out of town."
    3.5" floppy?
    is this a computer answer?
Size does matter but in some cases if you know how to work with what you have, it makes a difference. From an experience i had a bf with a 8.5 and it was not erect but he didn't satisfy me. One the other hand i had a friend with a 6 in and he was the best sex partner i ever had i was with him 7 years.

    Penis reduction?

My wife and I have intercourse many times per day. The problem is, my penis is literally the size of a mini python. Is there a safe surgery that can shave off about 8-10 inces? The girth is quite wide as well. Can that be cut down? It wont even fit in her mouth and it is ruining our sex life.Penis reduction?
Check with your doctor who will probably refer you to a urologist.
    Man, I though *I* was packin' :)
Just wake up from your fantasy and you will be OK... If it's not a fantasy, look me up!

    Pendulous breasts?

I am in my early 20s with a B cup that naturally sag a little. I don't mind it so much except when I am facing the ground (like propped up on my stomach) I guess with gravity they look longer and are very oval rather than round. Is this called being pendulous? What does that mean exactly? Is this natural or are my breasts really wierdly shaped? They look fine when I am standing up straight with good posture. Why am I like this?Pendulous breasts?
Yes they would be pendulous and it is perfectly normal to have.

    Pelvic pain and cramps?

I'VE BEEN GETTING CRAMPS SINCE WEDNESDAY LIKE AROUND MY PELVIC AND ABDOMEN.I HAVE A 35-39 CYCLE, AND IM EXPECTING MY PERIOD ON MAY 18, I SHOULD HAVE OVULATED DURING THIS WEEK BUT I THINK I OVULATED FRIDAY APRIL 27( I HAD ALOT OF CERVICAL MUCUS, BUT IT WENT AWAY ON MONDAY) I WAS EXPECTING TO OVULATE TODAY AND I USUALLY FEEL WHEN IM OVULATING. I ALSO HAD SEX ON MONDAY APRIL 23, MONDAY MAY 30, WEDNESDAY MAY 2 AND TODAY. CAN COULD THIS PAIN BE? AND ALSO SEVERE LOWER BACK PAIN.Pelvic pain and cramps?
Get yourself to a doctor. That pain could be anything. It's possible that you're pregnant (some women mistake the early signs of pregnancy for premenstrual cramps). It's also possible that you have pelvic inflammatory disorder, an undiagnosed yeast infection (can cause painful symptoms before obvious discharge), a bladder infection that has traveled to your kidneys (hence the back pain), or some sort of problem with your bowels. Take some ibuprofen for now and call your physician ASAP. Severe pain that's uncharacteristic for your cycle needs to be checked out by a pro.
Gas? Are you constipated? Drink more water. Or call your doctor.
Hey I don't know you should talk to your doc.
Did you use a condom all three times? Because you could really be pregnant. I think you should see a doctor whether you used a condom or not.
Well first off are you on the pill? or some other form of birth control? If not there is a chance of a tubal pregnancy. And with that comes sever lower back and abdomen pain, and if this is the case you have to see a doc asap cause it could rubsure you tubes. Some std's cause abdominal pain you may want to see a doctor, cause abdominal pain can be very serious and cause infertility!

    Peiord cramps?

I am 11 i have really bad cramps but i am not bleeding.
    HELP.Peiord cramps?
dont worry about it too much. when i was like 11 and 12 i had really bad cramps but nothing happened until like a year later. its probably your period starting ..if u havent started yet.
jesus crist yuor 11.. youre getting regular cramps
call the doctor if your worried!
Talk to your school nurse. Why are so sure it is related to
    menstruation?
HAVE U EVER HAD UR PERiOD BEFORE? WELL i'M 15 AND i HAVE VERii PAiNFUL CRAMPS iT'S NORMAL U CAN GET SOME MYDOL THAT WiLL HELP BUT i DON'T UNDERSTAND U HAVEN'T BEEN BLEEDiN SO HOW CAN U HAVE CRAMPS OR BE ON UR PERiOD??
Take an aleve as soon as you feel them coming on, get a heating pad and put it on your tummy and lie down until it passes. I had them all my life, from 11 until I was 35 and had a hysterectomy. One advantage was when I had a baby it was not too much worse than my cramps, and I was used to it. Make sure you are eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of excercise, and plenty of sleep. Some people say excercising when you have cramps will help, but it never did for me, it made them worse, so try it out for yourself first to see if it will or won't work for you. If so great, if not, take it easy. I was usually ok if I could make myself go to sleep even for only ten minutes. Good luck, hope you feel better :(

I personally never did this but you can pee after having an orgasm I think.
But as far as having an orgasm because your relieving your pee..No.

    Peed your maxi pad?

Who's ever peed their pad, and did it help?
    Here's my story:
Once I was stuck in a car and I needed to go really badly, for like an hour. And I realized that I was about to have an accident, so I was trying to protect the car seat (and my pants) and grabbed two of the pads I had in my purse. Then, I stuck them in my underwear. I realized that there was a box of tissues next to me so I just pulled like all of them out, and stuck them over my pad. Then, I just let go and relieved myself. Like 10 gallons of pee, seriously. It almost worked, but the sides of the underwear were very wet, which also caused some of my pants to get wet too, but overall I guess it was okay. Now I keep some diapers in the glove compartment, and they work well. I've also discovered that it feels kind of good, but I haven't had an experience like this since.
So, who's had an experience like this one?Peed your maxi pad?
I had to pee on my pad last week when I was trying to hold some water that I needed to hold for a test I had done. The urine was very watery of course because of the water that I was trying to hold inside of me (and not doing very well at I might add).
If you are feeling that you have to go often I would recommend that you see your dr to have this evaluated because you could be dealing with something called urinary incontinence.
well i once peed on a maxi pad to see how good they worked. i was either 10 or 11 all i remember that it was before i started getting my period and wanted to know how much they could hold. but other then that i have never peed on a pad.

    PEASE answer?

i have 2 week disposable cantacts.the soflens 66 toric. i am on my last pair which i should remove tomorrow because that would make it 2 weeks. i ordered new ones however they havent come. can i wear my contacts a little longer, my new ones should come in like 3 days???PEASE answer?
    should be alright
Three days probably won't hurt, but no longer. Stuff gets built up in them.
Use your eye drops/contact solution. If you are not having irritation, redness or discomfort, you will be fine. Don't worry.
Yeah, you can wear them a little longer, it's just less comfortable.
Three days is no big deal but if you were talking about five days to a week, that would be a bad idea. Protein and stuff like that builds up on contacts, and they wear out with use. Not a good idea to have that rubbing on your eyes.
In this case you should be fine.
if you just leave them in or taking them out at night=I though there was a solution to keep them in over night=they should have made sure your new ones were there at the right time
DONT YOU HAVE ANY GLASSES FOR A SHORT TIME.DONT WEAR YOUR CONTACTS ANY LONGER.
i have the same kind. its okay to wear the same pair for more than 2 weeks. make sure that you clean them thoroughly every morning and night when you take them out and put them in. also, when your new package comes in, change them immediatly. and for future reference: when you have two pairs left, order them!!

PCOS...can a regular OB/GYN DOC diagnose you or do i have to go to a specialist...?

i have an appointment on may 1 and that is with my OB/GYN and can they diagnose you with PCOS or do i have to go to a specialist...
note: i didnt say that i think i have pcos when i made the call.. i said i am having problems with my mentrual periodPCOS...can a regular OB/GYN DOC diagnose you or do i have to go to a specialist...?
Yes, your GYN can diagnose PCOS. Sometimes they will work with you on it, and sometimes they will refer you to an endocrinologist. It just depends on how the doctor wants to proceed.
yes i went to my gyn and he told me that they can do a test to find out .i don't know if i have pcos but will find out soon as i can.
there is no set test to check for PCOS..the ob/gyn will send you for blood work to check specific hormone levels, enzyme levels, etc. based on the results from these tests, they can conclude whether or not you have PCOS - i was recently diagnosed with PCOS and i had to go for about 4 or 5 different blood tests to check my hormone levels for PCOS - hope this helps :D

    PCOS and pregnancy...?

ive heard from several people that if you have PCOS, pregnancy might be out of the question. is this true?PCOS and pregnancy...?
I have PCOS, as do most of the women on my mom's side of the family. There is a chance with this disease that you may not be able to get pregnant, but it's not completely out of the question. Most of the problems the women in my family have from PCOS are problems with carrying the baby to term. They all seem to have miscarried at least once. Don't be discouraged! You can still definitely get pregnant.
Most women with PCOS can get pregnant, especially nowadays (since doctors are more aware of how to treat PCOS and often will treat women sooner than they would in the past). You may need a special drug to lower your insulin-resistance, or a drug to help you ovulate, but there's still a good chance you'll be able to get pregnant.

    Pcos and foul odor?

ive been diagnosed with pcos since i was 13 and for a while now theres been a foul odor coming from my vaginal area.about 6 months ago i started having this pain in my lower right side of my abdomen.i went to the emergency room a few months ago and they did an x-ray and it didnt show anything, but it took for them to give me an ultrasound to find out i had polycystic ovaries when i was 13..my question is,is this foul odor being caused by my pcos?im a clean person i wash up almost everytime after i use the bathroom.is there any treatment for this?

thanks. (need answers from only people who have been through this or by doctors)Pcos and foul odor?
PCO should not cause any odour or discharge. Sounds like you have a vaginal infection and need to see your Dr. Try treating yourself with Monistat or some sort of an antifungal first if you would prefer. Has nothing to do with PCO or being clean. Mater of fact a lot of soaps can be the cause of vaginal infections such as yeast infections.
    Good luck.
That is not a symptom of PCOS, you have something else going on, contact your doctor.

PCOS - Do I Have It?

I have excessive hair growth on my face, butt and stomach, I have not had my period for @ least 5 months and I have gained 10 lbs - mostly in my stomach area.
I am so worried. Should I go to the doctor? I'm so embarassed to have an ultrasound or go to the doctor because i'm so hairy. Can anyone give me any advice? Please, I'm at my wits ends!PCOS - Do I Have It?
Yes, it sounds just like it. Definitley go to a doctor, an ultrasound is really simple, non-invasive, you've seen it in the movies. Get it done and know for sure. Clearly something is wrong, it's better to be embarassed and get it fixed, then be embarassed forever.
yes you should go to the doctor.

I love my paragard. The first couple days were hellish, but I've had no side effects since then (it's been 3 years).
Most people prefer Mirena, because it actually makes your periods lighter. Unfortunately,I was not a candidate for Mirena, because of family history of blood clots.
Both Mirena and Paragard are equally efficient
Pros of Paragard: No hormones, lasts for up to 10 years
Cons: your period might be heavier and you might spot
Pros of Mirena: makes your period lighter, lasts for about 5 years, so it's better financial choice if you plan on having another kid in the next 5-7 years
Cons: might make you break out or gain some weight, it's not for people who have severe depression or history of blood clots/ cardiovascular problems
Mirena. We do a lot of IUD's in our gyne office and the ladies seem to like them. We have placed 2 paragards, both of which fell out with the patients first period so we just don't use them anymore. Good luck!

    Painless waxing?

i want to wax my legs over the summer instead of just shaving but i have a reallly low pain tollerence.
any recomondations on stuff you can buy at a drugstore thats relativly pain free?
    thanks :)Painless waxing?
Veet has a wax that you heat up in the sink with hot water and it comes with some numbing spray.Doesn't get rid of all the pain but dulls it some.
There is no pain free waxing, It sucks I know I wish there was cause I like the results of waxing just not the idea of tearing my hair out at the roots . If you dont have a reaction to NAIR you can try that, it works good, smells bad while your doing it but it works good. Good Luck
Take an Advil 1/2 hour before you get it done. It will help take the 'edge' off. Also, try to find a place that uses a cream based wax, which will also help with the discomfort.
    licenced paramedic
Sorry, there is no such thing. I have tried all of them and they are all equally painful. I am now getting laser treatments (really painful, but permanent)and the Dr's there prescribe some cream that numbs the area, so you may want to ask your doctor about getting a prescription for some kind of numbing cream before you wax. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the cream.
Waxing = pain. There is nothing out there that doesn't hurt. When you wax, you are literally pulling the hair out by the roots.
It depends on 'whom' does the waxing. I have a masseur who is a trained beautician and she is excellent. Proof? My Mother age 76 who has never had a wax in her life, had one and was left wondering what all the fuss over pain was about.

Why can't you see a doctor until then? Really you should try and make an appointment with a doctor, even if it's not your usual one. You could have endometriosis.
uhhh i have no clue. try super super super duty tampons.

    Painful Oral Sex?

Ok so my guy was eating me out yesterday. I guess he focused on the left side of the Labia Minora a little too much because it is really swollen & painful. Have you ever sucked your bottom lip so hard that it felt very swollen and sore? Well that's how it feels. It's way bigger than the right side and every little movement irritates it. HELP!Painful Oral Sex?
LOL! That happened to me my first time. It's because he doesn't know that it hurts, tell him. It went down but one is still a little bigger.
the smartest thing to do is TELL HIM while hes doing it so he knows what to do and what NOT to do ...
you could have an infection, it is very possible to spread things from mouth to genitals. If the pain persists or you start getting very swollen red patchy dry skin you need to see a doctor.
it will get better - just take it easy next time
could be serious I should look at it for you

    Painful intercourse certain ways only?

When my husband and I have sex, if he goes in all the way it kills! I ready on here someone said something about him hitting my cervix and that may be, but when we do it doggy - style he can go in all the way and hard and it doesn't hurt. What is up with that?Painful intercourse certain ways only?
There's a pocket behind the cervix, which is what he is entering when you do it doggy style. The rest of the time it sounds like he is htting the cervix.
You might want to have your gynecologist make sure your uterus isn't tipped though.
send some pictures... we might be able to help you out!
You may be like me and have a backwards facing uterus and that may be what is doing it. I have found that at certain times of the month it is different and also how turned on I am makes a difference. One thing I do know..if it hurts..stop and change position. Try it with you on top then you can control the amount of depth he gets.
